Young Artists Sandbox
Young Artists Sandbox is a creative space dedicated to providing accessible theatre and arts education for children. We believe that investing in the next generation is investing in our future—nurturing creativity, imagination, and confidence through play and performance.
Our programs offer affordable opportunities for young artists to explore storytelling, music, and movement while connecting with their cultural roots and community. Through hands-on workshops and performances, children learn to express themselves, collaborate, and discover the power of theatre as a space for empathy and understanding.
In Development: The Thai Fairy Tales Project
The Thai Fairy Tales Project is a participatory, community-centered initiative that reimagines traditional Thai fairy tales through the lens of contemporary life. Created and performed by Thai-identified artists, the project aims to preserve cultural heritage while fostering imaginative spaces for dialogue, exploration of identity, and a sense of belonging in New York City.
The project will unfold in two forms: a radio play series distributed online to reach a wide audience, and a series of live public performances in community spaces throughout New York City. Each tale will be adapted to address current events and civic challenges, weaving in themes such as migration, identity, climate justice, and intergenerational resilience. These
reimagined stories will not only honor the past but also provide a way for younger generations—both Thai and non-Thai—to encounter and engage with Thai culture in a vibrant, accessible way!
